Menu in appearance and customizer are different

  • Hi,

    The menu in customizer is different from menu in theme appearance.

    In theme appearance, I have created a menu category and its display mode is show and Target Audience is logged in users. At the same time, the menu in customizer, the display mode is show and no radio button is selected for Target Audience. So in site the menu is hidden for everyone.

    Could you please explain that what is the reason for this issue.

    Can you add any screenshots? What version of WP/my plugin? Can you reproduce with no other plugins active and a default theme (you can test with the Health Check plugin)?

    I have tried following : switching themes, deactivating plugins.
    WP version : 6.1.1
    Plugin version : 2.1.2

    I found some inline styles for menu in customizer while I inspect that menu. Can we add additional css for customizer menu ?

    I can’t upload screenshots. I get file uploading disabled warning

    You can use https://imageshack.com/ to host images and then post the links here. I just want to be sure I am accurately reproducing your set up… it makes debugging faster.

    Not sure what you mean by that. would need to see a screenshot of that too… ?? My plugin is only supposed to do hide/show items by role, so inline styles sound unrelated.

    I have set a menu item to “Show” to “Logged in users” and it appears the same to me in both the admin and the customizer:

    So I would need more information about your setup. What happens if you save the “logged in users” again setting in the Customizer?
