Hi,

My menu icon is not responding on mobile devices (tablet and phone) until after I start scrolling and the fixed navigation kicks in. When I refresh my page or when my website loads the menu icon is not responding. It starts to respond(or becomes active) after I have scrolled down and the sticky menu comes in. I have deactivated the plug-in and re-activated it but no change. Can you please help?

Thanks,
Kingsley

Hi Kingsley,

This is related to that top bar with the email, it’s on top of the Mobile Menu header so you can see the Mobile Menu icon but you can’t click on it.

Check this image

That’s why when you scroll and it goes down you can click in the menu icon.
You need to remove it from that position or hide it.

Let me know if you need help with that.

Hi Rui Guerreiro,

Thank you for your prompt reply. You are absolutely right. The top bar is the secondary menu with the Divi theme and when I removed the information in it, it worked fine. My client is keen to have the information there though, is there a work around to make this all work correctly with the secondary menu there? By the way, it’s misisng the Facebook logo too which I have on the desktop version

just my personal opinion and an advise. Why you don’t set the right menu icon with and email icon that will link to the email href? at least the email icon will always be accesible even if you scroll the page( what doesn’t happen today using that email ).

There is an option to link the menu icon to an url instead opening the menu panel.
And use the link below

Just like I have in my demo site, using 2 icons.

Hi Rui Guerreiro,

Thanks again for your reply. I have inputted the social icon and tel number into the main menu which looks similar to what I had originally done with the secondary menu and my client is happy with this.

On a separate issue, and I can create a new topic if you wish, on tablet devices, the menu is not appearing at all. It shows on mobile phone but not on tablet. Can you help with this too please?

Many thanks,
Kingsley

Try to increase the width trigger from 1024px to a higher resolution. Probably the tablet you are using has a higher resolution.

Let me know if that sorted it.

Hi Rui Guerreiro,

I increased the resolution higher than 1024px and sure enough the menu icon became available on tablets. This however caused another 2 problems –
1. When you scroll down the menu icon became squashed, like as if it was been forced upwards against a wall – it no longer looked the same as it was before you scrolled
2. After scrolling down and opening the menu, I couldn’t close it.

I resolved the matter by selecting the “Push Content” option which now gives me an X to close the menu.

I am happy with how it is all working now. Thank you so much for your great support.

Glad it’s sorted. Will add the close button in the Slideout Over content display type in the next update.

Thanks
