Menu-help (should be easy) and a logo question

First post then…
I am currently working on setting up a wordpress site (mostly static), and i want to make a menu on the top which links to static pages shown in the main-area. How do i do that, without the pages showing under “Innhold” (contents / pages, these are made by using “write page” in the adminpanel) I would also know how to insert an image in the sidebar(.php)
