• I am using the Magazine Premium theme by Bavotasan.com on https://www.tentotwenty.com. Up until a couple of months ago, my menus in the top bar worked fine. Now I can’t update them – if I delete a writer page, it’s still there. If I try to add a page, it won’t add to the drop down. I can’t add NEW tabs, etc. I have followed all the correct steps to no avail.

I’m getting very, very frustrated and my site looks out of date. The designer of the template advised that it’s actually the core piece of WordPress that needs to be addressed and that I needed to uninstall & reinstall the site.

    Help?!

  • I’m having a similar problem on an existing site. I can’t add a page or custom link to an existing menu.

When I try to create a new menu I get this message “Could not insert term into the database”.

I don’t have this problem on a clean install.

@esmi – These two issues seem very much related.

I’ve also seen this on a site after updating core to 3.4, and I still haven’t gotten to the bottom of it.

@tent9181 – are you getting any error messages? What do you mean when you say you “can’t” add new tabs, you mean a new menu? Is the option missing or broken, is there an error or a silent fail?

I was actually able to get on the phone with a WP consultant friend late yesterday and it was how I was trying to add the menu. I was looking at the “add a menu” button literally.. thinking it would add a tab and it wouldn’t. What I needed to do was add ALL the items under ONE tab. Very simple but I couldn’t see the forest for the trees apparently ?? Thanks all!!
