• Hey All,

I have ran into this problem before and the way I resolved it was reinstall WordPress entirely and create a new database. But this time I have reinstalled WordPress and created the new database several times with not luck. Here is the situation:

I installed a brand new installation of WordPress to develop a website for a client. I have not added any plugins or themes yet but created a page to test the menu in the appearance tab.

So I created the page and published it. I went to the menu tab under appearance. I can see the page greyed out, most of everything else is greyed out except for the text field to input an name for my menu. I do so and click the “create menu” button. What is supposed to happen is that a tab is to appear and a dropdown with the name of my menu so I can edit it. But what really happens is that the name of the menu I created disappears and nothing is created. No dropdown menu, no tab, and the pages selection section is still greyed out. When I try to recreate the same menu with the same title I get an error stating that the menu is already created or the same name for the menu is already in the database.

This is not the first time this has happened to me but my way of resolving this is not working. I have googled the problem but no one seems to be having this specific problem. I think this has something to do whit the database but I dont know where to start with that or even what it could be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, no matter what theme I install it still happens.

    Thanks in advance

    Eddie
