Not sure exactly when this started, but it didn’t use to do this. Ideally it would only slide in, not flashing fully positioned first. Same behavior happens when you close the menu.

Thanks in advance for any hints…

    Hey there,

I think this is the same thing that has been asked quite a few times on this forum and is because of accessibility functionality in specific browsers.

I just tried it on Firefox and Chrome on mobile and desktop and I didn’t get any flashing. Can you confirm this only happens on a specific browser or which are you seeing it on?

Unfortunately, it is not something that can be “fixed” because it is a “feature” of the browser itself.

    Please advise

    Thanks for the reply –

I currently see the issue on IOS only, Safari, Chrome, and firefox. I cannot test Android at this time…was that what you tested it on? Desktop is not an issue.

Let me try to describe it a bit better.

When I press the menu button the menu immediately appears fully extended for a split second. It then disappears in a “flash” to then slide in from the left side.

On the desktop, when I press the menu button, the menu slides in from the left as expected.

Not a big issue, but I was just curious if there was a fix I might try..

    Thanks again,

    Noel

    Hey Noel,

Yeah I tested on Android and Desktop and didn’t see the issue so it sounds like it is specific to iOS.

However, I just tested on iPhone too and didn’t see the issue. What device are you using and have you tested it on another device or just the one?

Have you made sure to clear the caches on your device?

    Please advise

I’ve tested on an ios device, latest os. I’ve cleared the caches, but I will check on another device tonight and report back.

    Hi Noel,

I just tested on another fresh iPhone and didn’t see the flashing you mention.

In fact, I haven’t seen it on any device I have tried yet.

    Please advise

Sorry, it seems like it my device. I tested on a fresh Iphone X last night and it behaved as expected. I appreciate you checking yourself and next troubleshooting round I will make sure to check on another device. I had assumed that using a browser I don’t use would be enough, but apparently not. My device is the latest ios on an iphone 7, just for the record.

    Hey Noel,

    That’s very strange.

Please do let me know if you find the cause of this on your phone.

Not clear exactly what the hang up was for me, but after a few days and a few restarts, whatever conflict was there had disappeared. Working perfectly now. Thanks for your attentiveness and work here.

    Hey Noel,

That is very weird. I wouldn’t even like to guess what it was but I’m glad it is fixed for you now.

    All the best

    Peter
