When I resize the browser for under 956 pixels the menu items suddenly disappear, and when it’s under 939 pixels the ‘3 lines menu’ appears instead.
I don’t like that ‘3 lines menu’ and would rather keep the regular one.
Tried to do so by editing style.css, mobile.css and mobile_hz.css – but didn’t succeed.
    Help would be very appreciated.

Temporarily fixed manually by editing style.css and other css files (mobile, mobile_hz, tablet).

Just be warned that making changes to any theme file is discouraged. If the theme gets updated because of feature enhancements, bug fixes, or security patches, or if the theme has to be updated because of a change to the WordPress core, then your changes will be lost. Since you have Jetpack installed, you should just add your overriding CSS to Jetpack’s Custom CSS option (go to Jetpack → Settings and activate Custom CSS, then go to Appearance → Edit CSS).
