Menu-Bar Color Not Applied Out of Dashboard (3.8)

I’ve done the same thing and it looks like that’s by design. ??

The color scheme does get applied to the dashboard but the website toolbar looks the same as the old colors.

That’s how its coded… I’m trying to figure out how to change it too.

Surely, you can change that behavior.

Why is there a need to have a differently coloured admin bar on the front end of your site?

Because the all black is too dark compared to the light grey from before.

The admin bar has always been dark. What’s changed?

That is by design. The new skins are for the back end only – not the admin bar.

In WordPress 3.7 the admin bar was light greyish. Now its pitch black dark and I would like to change it to the midnight theme if possible.

The admin bar on the front end of a site was always black (or near black). That’s not changed as it’s totally separate from the admin area itself.

Ok but the thing is people want to change the color.

And I think that will come with time but we really need to let the dust settle on this update first. Especially given that there were no plans to implement the functionality to change the front end admin bar in 3.8.
