Menu bar and drop downs disappeared

After trying to figure out how to change my background header color (behind the logo) from gray to black, my secondary menu bar went missing. And all of the menus and sub-menus are still in my menus list on the back end. I installed the Simple Hooks plugin and Visual Hooks Guide hoping that those plugins would help me be able to change the color without any luck. After activating these plugins, and trying a few things with the plugins the secondary menu bar went missing. Please help!!
