the boxes to add mentions have been missing since I installed 1.15 and are still missing with the latest. I disconnected and reconnected my account and still nothing. I have publish to a page set and mentions to appear at the bottom of posts. I’ve changed them and re-saved and still nothing. They were there and working before, now gone.

  • I am also missing the mention boxes, for friends and pages.
I am running 1.1.8. The debugger shows nothing wrong.

    Here as well…

Me neither. I also activated to post to timeline and to page, but i only get the status box of the page. So the boxes for timeline, and both mentions are missing.

Same here. Able to publish newly posted article thru page timeline, but unable do the mentioning function.

The same with me. By the way. Do you know how to complete the WP / FB with submitting Open Graph action? Should I load the settings with all these Icon, Banner options, descriptions ?

mention meta boxes are no longer a plugin feature as of version 1.2. The functionality has been removed from Facebook APIs. Mentions tagging in a custom Timeline message replaces the previous mentions boxes and display.

Niall, do you mean we should just @mention someone in the timeline.

sgatz: on the edit / create post screen you should have a “Facebook Status on Your Timeline” post meta box. Inside the post meta box you can compose a custom message displayed alongside the URL summary on Facebook. You can mention a Facebook friend or Facebook Page in this field using special mention tagging syntax. The special syntax becomes a link to the mentioned person or page on Facebook and may trigger Facebook alerts and appear in the mentioned person’s Timeline.

As you type into the input field in the “Facebook Status on Your Timeline” meta box press the “@” key and start typing your search: “@Scott.” You should see a list of friends named Scott combined with pages matching Scott. Select yourself from the list. Your search term is replaced with “@[553925025]” for special processing by Facebook.

You can also directly enter a Facebook ID or URL using the same syntax; the typeahead helps find those values and place them in the message for interpretation.
