I saw a post on this, but it was old and I can’t add comments to it. I have NO idea what to do to fix this.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /data/22/2/5/126/2005126/user/2193168/htdocs/BethDavid/blog/wp-admin/includes/taxonomy.php on line 135

I can’t get in anywhere to do the things the old post told me to do. I don’t know what version, I’m using. I can’t get in to find out. I just did a bunch of upgrades and then tried to get into my blog to write something and I got the fatal error message. I can’t get past it.

I had no idea I would need to be such a programmer to use this platform.

Anyway, I did try a “repair” with my host, while I was waiting for a response on how to increase memory.

Now my blog is not there at all and I’m getting this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_style_add_data() in /data/22/2/5/126/2005126/user/2193168/htdocs/BethDavid/blog/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 6656

Try Deleting the folder of “jetpack” plugin using FTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required).

Thank you. I was not able to do that either, but I was able to restore my whole website, including the blog to the version from the day before I had the problem.

    Very frustrating.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

Okay, so I went back to my blog and started updating. WordPress updated okay, but then Jetpack updated and I got the same problem again.

I’m going to restore it again to the old version. So I guess the questions now are, do I really need to update Jetpack? Is it on my end, or is it something that someone will fix eventually if I just wait for the next version?

    This is very frustrating.

I recommend asking in this plugin’s dedicated support sub-forum for better results so its developers and users can help you with this:

I haven’t posted in a few months and I’m having a terrible time. My post did not go to Facebook and I can’t figure out how to get it back. It used to automatically notify Facebook and Twitter when I posted. I can’t figure it out.
