Memory limit exceeded Next Gen Gallery – help?

I just started getting an error in Next Gen that says I’ve exceeded my memory limit when I upload images – and it fails to create thumbnails. Everything I’ve found so far is a few years old. Can someone help me fix this with the version of wordpress I’m using (3.4.1) or link me to the post that does (I’m not finding one). Thanks!
