• Hi, I have several site that are based around WordPress but one of them (only the one) is having difficulties. All has been well until last week. Then if you are loading any of the back end pages – especially the plugin list, then the pages delay for a while and you get the unresponsive error, I select the “Wait” option and then finally you get the Chrome “Aw Snap” error. You then click the reload, and the same happens. I should say that looking at the generated site (not the WordPress admin dashboard etc.) is fine. Pages load and display as expected and in an acceptable response time.

As I said, other sites using the same software stack (WordPress and Chrome) work as expected. I have closed everything else on my PC and just had the system and one Chrome tab running and it still ran out of memory.

Trying the same in Firefox and all is OK and no memory or load issues. Now, this MAY be a Chrome issue, but it is suspicious that it is only one site. Have you any idea as to what I can do to reach out for assistance?

  • Based on your description, it appears that the issue might be related to Chrome rather than your website itself. Since other sites using the same software stack are working as expected, and you’re not encountering memory or load issues in Firefox, it suggests that the problem may be specific to Chrome.

To seek assistance, I recommend reaching out to the Chrome support forum, where you can describe the issue in detail.

It would be helpful to provide the URL of your site and explain the specific symptoms you’re encountering.

I just checked my site and it is working fine in every browser.

Hi, thanks for your reply. You say to contact Chrome support forum – do you have a link? Is it on here or an entirely different site?

One thing that is puzzling is that it has only just started and I don’t recall a Chrome update. There have, though, been WordPress and plugin updates. I may try a disabling session to see if removing one or more plugins stabilises it.

    Thanks for the help
