Memory handling, allocation and requirements in WordPress..
-
Just wondering about the WordPress usage of memory and it handles it..
I host my websites on my own servers so I am lucky to have the flexibility to decide how to manage my servers memory resources as I wish, which may be harder on in a hosted environment.
I been trying to understand for some time now how best manage my servers memory so the they perform well and keep my WP sites happy..
I read a lot of articles including WordPress own about the subject but the there is no consistency in the information. som say 128 mb minimum hard-coded i WP , while others say that its 256 or 64 mb… no way here so really get a confirmation about it.
Also I’m wondering how to mange the memory of one single website on my server.
Is there a way to actually measure a single wp website’s need for memory and then set it up in ” WP_MEMORY_LIMIT” as dicussed in the wp.org link below in codex?
What is the good practice here?
How much memory should a single website have allocated to perform well?
What do you think suggest would be the right way to manage the memory?
In the end it’s all a question about performance and the more you understand the better you can do the job right, right? ??
Thanks
Daniel
