    Dear Yoast Team,

I got a message recently from the Google Console that my sitemap was not working correctly. When I looked at the sitemap I realised that for the page-sitemap no list is shown, instead a memory error is reported:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 11997448 bytes) in /home/.sites/40/site933/web/wp/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1102

Strangely enough, there is no issue with the post-sitemap which has much more entries.

I have not installed any new plugins in the last days and the problem is new.
I read one entry that sad to refresh the permalinks and deactivate and reactive the sitemap from your SEO plugin. But the behaviour is still the same.

    Best regards,

The error that you are receiving ‘Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted’ is caused by the PHP memory being set to low, and needing to be increased on your hosting account. This setting is typically controlled by editing the wp-config.php or php.ini file and increasing the allocated memory.

If you aren’t sure how to change this setting, we would recommend contacting your hosting provider for additional assistance. We also have additional information on this error located at the following link: ?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fatal-error-allowed-memory-exhausted/

Unfortunately, we have already the max allowed by our provider. The strange thing is that it used to work fine and – as I mentioned before – there is no issue with posts (where there are much more), only with pages. Even CPT work.
Guess I’ll deactivate the sitemap feature.
    Thanks.
