Can this plugin be used with the Exchange Membership add on? If so how would it be implemented?
Cheers,

Hi Chris,
Yes it can be used with the membership add-on. I’m using it for a couple of membership sites already. You would just attach the form to your membership product, the same as any other product. Then all should work well.
Is there something else you had in mind?
Thanks Timothy,
I was thinking that perhaps I could use the Gravity forms in place of the built iThemes Exchange Register/Login forms.
What I was hoping could be done, would be to create a Gravity Form that has two forms in one, a reg. form and a login form. And if the user was not logged into when purchasing a Membership, they would be sent to the form to either reg. or login.
Do you think this is possible?
Cheers,
ChrisHi Chris,
We are planning on releasing a premium Exchange add-on next week that will allow you to sell a product via a Gravity Form, i.e. completely replace the iThemes Exchange.
That add-on will also have the ability to replace the registration form in the iThemes Exchange Super Widget, as well as the iThemes Registration page.
Is there a reason you’d want to replace the login form as well?
Mostly for aesthetics really. So when they go to the form (if not logged in) they could reg. if they don’t have an account, or login if they do have an account but are not logged in. And having both forms (reg. and login) on one page would be ideal (to me anyways ;-)).
So with your premium plugin, I could create a form that would replace the current Exhcnage product page? But would it still use Exchange to complete the order (i.e setup the user’s membership)?
Cheers,
ChrisAhh, ok. Yeah, how Exchange does it currently is there is a link on the registration page to login, and vice versa. What our plugin will do is allow you to completely replace the registration page. So if you could build it in one form in Gravity Forms, you’d be able to use it as the registration form –?provided you have the Gravity Forms Profile add-on thingy.
For example, you can look here: https://nyfencing.com/account/registration/. That is a site where we completely replaced the registration form with a gravity form.
So with our plugin, yes when the user completes the purchase through a gravity form, it will be just like the purchase was made in Exchange, everything will get set up etc…. I don’t know yet what we are going to do about recurring payments. Because tying that into GF might be difficult. But I can let you know either way.
However, that plugin will also give you the ability to replace the Registration form. That is what we did on the nyfencing.com website. We just replaced the registration form because they needed their students to fill out a waiver before signing up their classes. So that site uses the complete iThemes Exchange product purchasing experience.
If all you are needing is to replace the registration form so you can get extra information. Then you will definitely be able to use that premium plugin, and that is what I’d recommend. You can just use the part to replace the registration form. And let Exchange handle the selling of the membership.
Thanks again Timothy,
I guess I should just get the plugin and play around to see how the work flow of it truly is, then I will have a better understanding ??
And when you have more info on that premium plugin I will have a look ??
Cheers,
ChrisHi Chris,
We just released the add-on, you can learn more about it on our website. Essentially, the feature you’d be interested in is the custom registration form. You can use that to collect any additional information you need once, when the user registers for an account. It will replace both the registration form at
account/registration
and in the SuperWidget. That has screenshots, and you can find documentation online as well. Thanks Timothy!
I finally got around to installing Gravity Forms today. I will have a look at your add-on.
Cheers,
ChrisI have itheme exchange and wanted to get the plug in you recommended that is free – that is all I need and I am not a developer. But the page says I must have Gravity Forms to begin with and that it can’t be used for personal use. This is a business but I am not sure what that means – I am not a developer. Can you help me? We are a non-profit and must have more information than the itheme exchange checkout collects.
Thank you,
