Membership plugin that spans multiple sites within Multipress

Hope I’m making sense here. I run a newspaper website using WordPress, and we need to put up a paywall, hence the Membership plugin. Now there are plenty out there that can do it on a standalone WP installation, but I can’t seem to find anything that does quite what I need. Perhaps someone here knows of anything…

So if a user gets a paid subscription to the website, say “website.com,” and I have the rest of the site broken down into different Multisite sites, for instance one for website.com/news, one for website.com/sports (broken down due to the different functionality each Multisite needs), how can I carry over that paid membership level to the multisites? I’ve tried a few various membership plugins, and have activated WP Orphanage extended, where I can see those particular users carried over into the various Multisites, but just not their Paid membership status.

Any clues? Thanks in advance!
