• Hi this all seemed to work before I upgraded wordpress. I’m still at the sandbox testing stage, and I’m not using the free membership. When I click the subscribe now button I go to paypal sandbox where I make the transaction successfully. It shows the transaction correctly in my sandbox paypal account and all seems to be fine. The problem is that the account doesn’t get set up in the WP Membership area, you don’t see the account in WP Users either and no confirmation email gets sent to the email account. Basically you can pay to subscribe and I guess it takes your money but doesn’t subscribe you.

I am sure this worked before I upgraded to the latest WordPress version. I could see the account all successfully set up in WP Membership and I still have the confirmation emails, one saying “Thank you for joining us! Please complete your registration by visiting the following link:…” and the other email giving me confirmation after I completed registration, so I know it used to work.

I’ve seen one other post here saying things didn’t work after they had deleted the member and it didn’t get deleted in the database preventing further attempts at registration with that account and wondered if that could be the case here, however on searching through the MySQL database there is no record of any account being set up.

I’ve also enabled debug mode but nothing is recorded.

    Any ideas?

Hi, in Sandbox testing no e-mails will be sent because this is a fictional account and transaction. what if you try to set up an active account and disable Sandbox testing?

If you run into any problems please read the following documentation. This will help you troubleshoot some of your issues if you run into any.

Please try the above and report back if you have any problems.

    Thank you

Ok thanks for your response. This is turning out to be a nightmare. I’ve been through the documentation. Firstly, the info and screen grabs about IPN notification and what to do to make sure this works in your paypal account is out of date. There is nowhere in my paypal account or paypal sandbox account where I can view IPN settings. Secondly, after managing to get the debug mode to work and give me some feedback, it seems possible my server is blocking IPN notification. After talking to them they say that an SSL certificate needs to be purchased for IPN to work. This was all working 2 weeks ago and now I’ve got to go back to my client and tell them I cannot build their site within the budget we agreed. Someone has changed the goalposts and I’m not sure where, WP Membership, Paypal or my hosting.

Hi, in regards to the IPN settings try the following documentation. Also can you share what PayPal account you have set up?

As far as I know you don’t need an SSL certificate to set up your PayPal IPN settings in your PayPal account. I have mine set up and I don’t use an SSL certificate.
