    I found some members stopped paying (I guess they cancelled the subscription in their Paypal account), but their membership not automatically cancelled.

    Why?

    It happened in 2020, so I guess this problem should be solved now

    Often cancellations that are done via PayPal not cancelling in Paid Memberships Pro are related to IPN issues.

    Just tested and it works as expected. (member cancel their Paypal automatic payment then their membership also immediately cancelled)

    Another question, I received an email notification which tells me “We cannot process the following recurring payment. We will try again in five days”

    What are the possible the reasons?

    That email is usually gateway dependent, I recommend reaching out to PayPal support directly (there may be a grace period where they will periodically retry the subscription to see if it’s successful or not).
