We are in need of some assistance and direction while we are attempting to create an online membership website. I am going to start by outlining what we are trying to accomplish, followed by stating what we are currently able to do, and ending with where we need help.

Goal:
Create an online membership website with the following capabilities.
1. Stream media (video) with certain privileges for certain account levels
2. Also sell physical products

Here’s a base flow of what we intend to create:

Land on site–> Click Free Trial-> Submit name and Email → Prompt to check email box for confirmation and verification → Email: Click link to next step which takes user back to website → Just a few more steps to set up your free account → User must then enter name, age range, M/F, skill level → Username & password creation → User now has an account which gives them access to certain content only. → Thank you page with Links to the free content → Free Content area should push the Monthly and Yearly options → User is now able to upgrade their account via purchasing the upgraded plan. → User should not have to create a new account, simply pay the upgrade price.

Current Capabilities:
Ecommerce is set up with WooCommerce.
Streaming media set up with Vdocipher and their WP plugin.
Restricted access and membership plans have been created via WooCommerce Membership and Groups extensions.
Name and email submission have been set up with Bloom (from elegant themes) and Constant Contact along with autoresponder email.

Where we are need of help:
We have not figured out the best way to get users to create a free account which is then easily upgradable to a paid account. The only way that WooCommerce Memberships allows this is by adding a product to the cart with a zero dollar value and proceeding thru checkout. We prefer a much more professional, streamlined approach to creating the free account.
