Hello, are member profiles and directories truly private to the site? Meaning could search engines index these pages and profiles become publicly available via a google search?

If yes, how do I keep this from happening?

FYI I have yet to add Ultimate Member because its contingent on this information. Thanks!

  • 1. Users can enable/disable “Profile Privacy” from their Account > Privacy tab. This can be set so “Everyone” can see, or “Only Me”

    2. Using Yoast SEO plugin, you can disable Author / User from sitemap. I am sure you could also add something to robots.txt to tell search engines to ignore your yoursite.com/member

    3. You can disable “Global Site Access” if a user is not logged in. This would prevent anyone not registered from accessing UM pages. UM > Settings > Access.
