member page plugin

  • Dear all pressers.
    I’m am slowly starting to run a site with more and more material i would like to be for members only. Up untill now i have just paswwordprotected the folder on the server and had people log in via that. however it is kinda troublesome to administrate.

    then i stumbled across this members plugin. Have anyone got any experience with it?

    what is your opinion on the safety of using it? is it more or less safe then the passwordprotected folder on the server?

    I’ve been experimenting to achieve much the same thing on my site. A combination of the plugins: Register-Plus, Subscribe2, and Role Scoper seems to to do the trick.

    Another very handy plugin is Sidebar Login. This adds a login form to the sidebar but, most crucially, directs logged in users to the home page rather than the dashboard.
