Melding WordPress with existing Web site

    I have an existing Web site, but would like to incorporate WordPress as part of the site. Is it possible?

    Ideally, I would like to use my current site, and have the WordPress as a site within the site.

    If that is not possible, in order to make the transition to WordPress as seamless as possible, is it possible to set WordPress up in a temp file area within my existing site until I get it set up properly, then go live?
