Mega menu extended component not supported?

According to the “Plugin Development” section at:

https://amp-wp.org/documentation/developing-wordpress-amp-sites/how-to-develop-with-the-amp-plugin

Any extended components (amp-lightbox etc.) are supposed to have their scripts automatically added to the page.

This is working in most cases, but it doesn’t seem to be for amp-mega-menu.

Is there a filter or hook in the theme where I can add it myself? If I add it to my header.php file, or via a typical wp_enqueue_script it’s stripped out.
