I recently found that sharing my site pages, even with the copy and paste from the address bar, has been blocked on some social networks like facebook. I checked the logs and saw that some attacking bots followed the path:

    https://www.sitename.tlc / postname? relatedposts = 1

    And then went on

    https://www.sitename.tlc / postname? share = email & nb = 1

I also noticed error messages about the inability to deliver mail to some recipients.

The fact is, I disable email sharing and still continue to share bulk mail links and arbitrary sites massively. This type of attack unfortunately greatly hampers the site that at this point can not be used within any social network.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Sorry about the delay in writing back to you. We’ve made some changes in Jetpack 5.1 to address this issue with the “Share via email” button: the button is now disabled unless you use the Akismet plugin, in which case Akismet scans all shared posts to make sure spammers do not abuse the button. The pings to the share=email&nb=1 may continue, but no post will be shared via that URL.

This won’t have an impact on your site’s presence on social networks though. If you find that posts from your site can’t be shared on a specific social network, I would recommend that you get in touch with that network to get some help.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.
