• Help please!

I was using a plugin called fitr theme options and I totally screwed my blog. Nothing works and I can no longer access the file to correct the error.

Here is the message I get at my login page:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/jasonz/public_html/wp-content/themes/starscape/functions.php on line 10

I do not know how to restore my blog. I use hostgator and it has a backup, but I am clueless.

  • Hostgator should have some kind of file management interface. Login using that, or login over FTP. If ftr is the problem deleting it from the plugins– wp-content/plugins– directory should fix the problem, but the error looks to be in the functions file. Did you edit that file? If you did, I’d start there. You’ve got what is probably a simple syntax error but I can’t tell you how to fix it without seeing the line ( and three or four lines above and below it).

Thanks for your help. I contacted Host Gator support and they took care of it for me.

    That was nice of them.
