• Hello, I’m setting the “alt scheme” to “%media_alt” but in the site front-end the alt attrib on every img is being set to the post title, any idea on what could be going wrong?

The images got their alts and titles set up on the media gallery, and I’m not checking the override function checkboxes on the plugin, with them checked the behaviour is the same.

The wp version is 5.3.4 and the plugin is the free version. Thanks in advance!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Same problem with one of my websites – %media_alt not picking up the alt from the media library no matter what I’ve tried. I’ve tried about every setting variation there is to see what happens, but no luck – simply refuses to use the media library alt.

    Hey folks,

sorry to hear about your problems.

I think that the query, that will handle media_alt, was disturbed by another plugin or theme.

Please try to disable your plugins one by one and at least try to change your theme.

I think with this method you can figure out which component makes some trouble there. Please tell me the result of that check and I will try to solve the conflict.

    kind regards
    Pascal

I am now finding that the media_alt is not working on any website and we’ve put in hours to get alt descriptions put in via the media library. I have tried disabling all plugins except for PB SEO Friendly Images and switching to the default theme (I usually use divi).

Even if I have both the alt and title schemes set to media_alt, the beautifully written alt descriptions in the media library still will not show. I’ve tried overriding and changing the sync just to see what would happen, but nothing. Again, this is after having no other plugins running and using the default theme.

There was a recent update to wordpress. Could something in the last update be interfering? Help?

    That sounds interesting.

Could you please tell me your WP and plugin version.
    We will investigate this bug.

Always run the latest as I’m neurotic about keeping updated. WordPress 5.4.2 and your plugin version 4.0.4

    Any progress on this?

I actually have found another solution using the media library assistant plugin with their “fixit” addon. Permanently writes the media library alts into the html of the pages/posts.

    Having same problem. 5.4.2

Used old wp version for a while (since 2015), filled only titles leaving alt field empty. Titles were nicely shown by Lightbox/Colorbox. Updated… ??

With plugin enabled I got 1 alt and 2 titles (two title attributes in one img tag) for every photo in a gallery, all are same as POST title. Changing schema to %name works, it makes alt and one of two title change to filename (not what I want, but plugin works somehow I mean).

For single images (not in gallery) first title is taken from media library, alt and second title are same as POST title while overwrite is enabled and set to %media_title.

@gjefle sorry, I’ve not seen your reply.

We investigate in this case and work on the problem. We will release an update in the next weeks.

Hi – how’s it coming with a fix to this issue?

    Any update?
