I have a WordPress 3.2.1 website on a multisite setup. When I upload media to WordPress it uploads to the server and if I type the full URL of where it uploads to it displays in the web browser. So my file permissions and everything are fine.

But in WordPress the images don’t show up. Instead of the correct URL I get this for an image I uploaded today: https:///wp-content/uploads/2011/11/zllogo.png

    How do I fix this?

  • is this a fresh install?

is it happening in all blogs of the network?

have you tried the regular troubleshooting, disable all plugins, swap to default theme?

I’ve had this installation active since WordPress 3.0, I’ve tried disabling all the plugins and themes and all that. I only have one blog on the network right now.

ok, the broken address indicated that it was the main site

have you checked your .htaccess file, no alien lines there?

if you have one and if possible, maybe reverting to a previous db backup…

did it happen from nowhere or is there a plugin you recently activated?

[edit: re: .htaccess: after swapping to default theme or disabling plugins, refresh you permalinks]

That sounds like a busted setting.

Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin/network/site-info.php?id=1 and click on the SETTINGS tab.

    Check the settings for:
    Upload Path
    Fileupload Realpath
    Fileupload Url

I ended up just reinstalling WordPress and now everything seems to work.
