• I’ve updated to WP 2.7 and whenever I use media-upload.php to either add an existing image or upload an image it will not let me choose anything other than the full size of the image. In my old 2.6.x version I could choose thumbnail, medium or large with no problems however now it will not let me do so. Even if I choose to use older uploaded images from my media library, which I have resized in the past it will not let me resize them.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem. Would this potentially be a theme problem?

  • I am having the same problem. Did you find an answer?
    Thanks,

    Hi,

Please check the settings for thumbnail and medium at settings -> media settings.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Mine are all filled in, 150×150, 800×600 and 1024×768

I have the same problem. Have you found a solution?

my settings in media settings is filled. WP also creates the respective files in wp-content/uploads according to the sizes I have set, however it does not allow me to select the sizes available upon upload (thumbnail, medium, large, full size).

I have the same problem! I can’t get wordpress to resize my images. Ideas? I’ve tried several things without success.

In my case I had to install the php-gd library which is used by WordPress to resize the images. Tested on 2.7.1

If you have access, on CentOS or RedHat you can run:

    yum install php-gd

*Note: There was also mention of ImageMagick needing to be installed, but that did not solve the problem.
