I’m having a problem where all of a sudden my media uploader wont respond. I deleted a featured image from a page in WP, cleared caches and then cropped the image on my pc and tried to upload to the page or the library. Likewise there is no response when I try to select a picture from my library. nothing happens when I click “show” or when I click “select Files” on the “upload media” page.

I have tried this on FF13 and the latest Chrome ver. I can FTP images to the site but get no response when I try to insert images from the library or select images from my pc to upload.

I have spoken to Studiopress who say its not their theme’s problem and my hosts who are also investigating. I have disabled a number of installed plugins – with the same result.

    I am using WP3.3.2

  • Is the other site hosted on the same physical server?

    @esmi,

It has the same IP address and AS number.

A new development. I received a mail from the hosting company saying they had “solved” the problem and that it was the Simple 301 Re-Direct plugin which they had disabled.
To my dismay when I logged on to the site this morning none of my pages text was showing in the Visual window. Only in the HTML windows. The MCE editor wont load – even after upgrading WP and Ultra MCE – so no pages can be edited although they still show on the frontend.

So in “fixing” the problem they have created a far larger one – site -wide!

This is a bit of a nightmare.

Oh dear. Sometimes well-meaning hosts can cause real problems. Are you sure that the only thing that they did was remove that plugin?

    Hi esmi,

This is the answer I got. Ive told them to fix it fast….

“I was able to reproduce the issue. I investigated and I believe this issue is being caused by WordPress plugin “Simple 301 Redirects”. I have since disabled this one plugin and the image issues went away.

Please test your website. If you happen to find any issues please feel free to reply to this support ticket for further assistance.”
And that was three hours ago….

    When do you sleep:-)?

I manage. I may be in a different time zone to you. ??

Lets see if we can sort this out. Can you deactivate all plugins and switch to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if that helps?

It works! I have just heard a whisper that the Framework I am using is having compatibility problems with WP3.4:-(

    Really? What framework is it?

    (@brianrho)

    Genesis.

I dont think that could have been the only problem but maybe the plugin conflict was real and then along came WP3.4 and another twist to the tale!?

The only issues relating to Genesis are the display of warning messages in the Admin area of the site. Whilst these are annoying, they do not affect the theme’s functioning at all. Studiopress is working on a fix right now.

    Hi esmi

I have fixed the conflict! It was something in the Ultimate TinyMce plug-in.

    Many thanks for your help.

    No problem ??
