Probably user error, possibly associated with the theme update I applied last night but today images are being imported with some additional “1 x 1” size data that I haven’t seen before. What does this mean please?

    <img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-208" alt="Lotus+feelblack250" src="https://localhost:8888/sitename/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Lotus+feelblack250.png" width="1" height="1" /><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-211" alt="Lotus-feelblack250" src="https://localhost:8888/sitename/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Lotus-feelblack250.png" width="250" height="143" />

Also, what does “wp-image-208” mean and “wp-image-211” – neither of which parameters have been set by me on this 250 x 143px image which is destined for a Footer 1-2-3 widget?

Now that I read it again, the image seems to have picked up some old faulty code from a previously uploaded image with a similar name.

“Lotus+feelblack250.png” was 250px wide but somehow uploaded as “1 x 1” and displayed on the page at 1 x 1px.

I deleted it and the widget code associated with it and created a new image with a similar name – “Lotus-feelblack250.png” – but the media uploader has somehow mangled the code of the previous image with the new one.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I still don’t know what caused this but it isn’t happening any more I’m pleased to say.
