    How big are these images? Not in terms of filesize, but in actual image resolution?

    Large images require more memory to process. Are these images particularly large?

    Is there anything else unusual about them? Are they black and white?

    Also try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Saavar,

    I have been having this problem as well, same error and same recent upgrade. The only solutions in the forums that I can find are years old and none of the fixes are working. I have looked at log files (no errors), I have looked at my configuration file – looks fine, and I have validated privileges on the uploads file location. Everything is correct.

    My installation is a multisite as well. My main site does not work, but my secondary site works. I have turned off all plugins and it still won’t upload. I have confirmed the URL settings in the database using phpadmin. I’m stumped on this one.

    Tara i tried disabling all plugins

    it happens with all images whatever size. only the admin account and not all times its possible to upload

    Same issue here since yesterday. I managed to get one uploaded after trying at least 20 different times but everything else is returning an HTTP error. No size difference than what they are usually. Same quality, size, not B&W. I have an image heavy site and never had any issues until yesterday.

    sara,
    same for me i manages some uploads after hundred efforts

    @savvar
    Both your sites have javascript warnings (Chrome F12) that could be causing that random upload success/not success.

    those warnings are for google maps api i had them for at least 3 months now and didnt had any upload problems before the update

    I only see 2 for google maps.

    From tara: – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Did you try this?

    Thread Starter savvar

    (@savvar)

    you see other warnings also?

    i tried staging also and upload works fine here. https://42b.8d1.myftpupload.com/

    what to do? can you help me?

    @tara

    What I meant is that I have tried everything posted in the forums (dating back years) – not this post. My problem appears to be the same issue. Should I really post a completely separate issue?

    i have the same problem.

    Deactivated all plugins and still the same issue.. Any fix, please?

    To elaborate,

    – i haven’t this problem before
    – error message “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”
    – However, file is uploaded successfully when refreshing the page
    – it occurs only when trying to insert media from inside a new post
    – I deactivated all plugins, and still happening

    This happened when i upgraded to wordpress 4.5.3

    Help please
