Media Uploader

I was experiencing an issue with uploads failing which seems to be a common issue. The upload would be successful (in that the file arrived at the server ) but I got a generic error message and the media library would just hang.

I realised that actually the media library always hung on grid view. It worked fine in list view. But after an upload it defaults into grid which made inserting an image impossible.

So, the reason …

Debug to screen was on.

I have seen the conversation about the development of grid view in which the formatting is discussed and how that effects the actions of grid view. But debug seems to have been overlooked.

If debug is on and there are error messages it will prevent grid view from working correctly.

Just thought I’d mention it. Evidently the solution is to turn debug off or debug only to file.

But it is nice to debug to screen. Personally, I always have debug on for my own IP address so that things do not slip past me but that is just me.
