media upload problems

Every morning for the last year, I upload an image and audio files to support my daily post. This morning, the uploaded audio file was tinny, scratchy and incomplete; in a year, I’ve never had that problem. The image file was illegible/unviewable, i.e., an ‘image’ showed up, but it was just a blob of colors in symmetric shapes. I spent the morning on the phone with my host, SiteGround. They couldn’t figure it out and told me to reinstall a backup from when it worked. I did and I still can’t successfully upload media. I have another site and it works today with no problems. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. I do NOT receive an error message, just incomplete uploads.
