Media Upload Issue

  • For some reason, since the end of Christmas, I’ve been having issues uploading media to my WordPress blog.

    Previously, the image would upload without a hitch and the progress bar would fill up quickly and then display the thumbnail on completion.

    Now, it sits at 0% before either displaying the thumbnail after 20 seconds to a minute, or continuing to sit there and not upload.

    I’ve checked the sticky thread here and nothing seemed to help. One thing I did notice was that from the work computer, it works fine as it did before approximately every third time. I don’t know why this is.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?
