• Hi, I have been struggling for a while to upload any media to my WordPress site and just get an Http error. I have read other threads, blogs and post and despite trying all manner of solutions, nothing seems to work. I am not particularly tech-savvy but even following step-by-step instructions, nothing seems to be working.

I have deactivated my plugins and theme, and all versions are up to date. My site is hosted through GoDaddy and I have been in contact with them, who assure me the issue is not at their end.

If anyone has ANY idea how to resolve this, I would be very grateful as it has been about 3 months since I have been able to post any pictures!

    Thanks.

  • Hey clairelou,

It seems your media file is bigger in size, and possibly the size of media file you’re uploading is not allowed from your server. Please try once uploading an image of less that 100kb and see if it’s working fine. If the less than 100kb file is uploading properly then might be possible, that you server has a limit of media upload.

Try to installing the “Default to GD” plugin which “Sets GD as default WP_Image_Editor class.”

The plugin is (currently) available here:

    Hi,
Thanks for your suggestions but unfortunately they don’t work either. Any other ideas?

Having read lots of other threads, this seems to be a common issue – is there no fix which WP can do to stop this happening?

    Thanks.

    Any other ideas?

If Godaddy gives you access to your server error logs, check those for additional error information.

Turn on debugging and logging and see if that gives you any additional information.
