media storage

  • hi,
    i am registered in goddady.
    i have installed wordpress in my Language by adding SQL DB and all is working good.
    when i upload an image file through wordpess uploader i find it in the:
    /root>wp-content>uploads>2013
    but when i upload to the same place through an FTP client it dosent show in the media library..
    help whould be appreciated.

  • There is nothing wrong in what you did, it’s in fact a logical thing to do when there are lots of images, but Media management in WP is not one of the best yet.

    In this particular matter, you can use this plugin to make WP recognize those images as if they were uploaded via WP’s uploading system.

    its working, tell me is there a way to keep the original file name? heard that its good for search engines. any way i upload it changes the name to the camera name..
