Media Replace removed from Main Media Page?

I can only find the “Replace Media” function in WP 4.0 when in “List Mode” clicking “Edit” when hovering an image and then below find this “messy” setup (why not with the button placed below the “Replace media” title?)

Will the function not be implemented properly in 4.0?

I second that. The link should not be hidden that far.

I have the exact same issue… the “Replace Media” option is gone when hovering over a media file in the Media Library. This is in WP 3.9.2…

Sadly, this is no longer possible in 4.0.

I think it’s a bad decision, of course, and I hope it will be added in an upcoming release of WP 4.

FYI, I’ve NOT upgraded to 4,0 yet – I’m still on 3.9.2, and it’s disappeared from my main view as well. I came here looking for a fix, and found this discussion!

If you deactivate and uninstall the plug-in, then re-install it, the “Replace Media” link will re-appear.

I can confirm that deleting and reinstalling the plugin will bring the Replace Media link back to the Media Library (List View).
