How can I replicate the desktop view on mobile devices.
On mobile the height of the boxes is way to heigh but I can’t seem to change it.

I checked your site’s mobile view and these elements look exactly how you want them, so I’m not sure if you figured it out already or I didn’t understand what you’re trying to achieve. ??

I have reduced image height with css, but not reduced its div height.
‘block’ is reading image bottom at ‘line’;
I therefore have to give block a margin top of -140% (minus one forty!);
Seems extreme and the following block will also need a negative top margin.
