Are you using the featured image? Or are you inserting media into the post content? And when you say media, do you mean image file or sound file or other?

I’m using a jpeg that I’ve uploaded to my Media Library, and trying to add it to a Post. I click on the “Add Media” button, select the image from the Library, click “add to post”. It appears to have been added, but there is no indication of it on the Edit copy of the post, and when you go to the site, it is not displayed.

That’s certainly odd. At this point I’d recommend you go through the standard practice of disabling all plugins, and changing to one of the default themes. Then see what happens.

I can do that, except I’ve got it all set up with the Theme and hate to change it all. But it would be interesting to see if changing the Theme has anything to do with it. I’ll start by disabling all of the plugins, and then re-enable them one by one and check to see if it works.
