Media Library Question Marks: Can’t Upload Pics
-
Hey everyone,
Starting two days ago (April 21) we’ve been experiencing problems when uploading pictures (jpgs) into our Media Library. We go through the whole process smoothly until it’s time for the picture to show up. What do we get instead? A small “?” in a tiny blue box (thumbnail too). The thing is though, when we try click on “Edit Image”, the jpg appears in full form; however, when we try to edit the image we are unable to save it in its edited form, and the picture returns to the “?” in the blue box. What is interesting is that our old uploaded pictures still work (unless you try editing them.. then the “?” and blue box show up again).
We’ve read through many of the forums and try to imitate some of the suggestions, but nothing has remedied our situation (checking FTP client permissions, making sure the wp-content/upload folder is correct, etc.). We’ve even tried going directly to the image URL, but it tells us that it’s “Access Denied” on new pictures. Somewhere we must have flipped a switch or tripped over a metaphorical wire of some sort. Can someone help us retrace our steps and correct this error? Or does it sound more like a WP glitch? Or maybe even a server glitch? Let us know if you can help. Thank you in advance for your comments.
