Media Library: permalink, slug, filename etc.
-
I uploaded a PDF to Media Library entitled “Two-Handed Saints Part @ 120 bpm.”
In WP Settings > Permalinks, “Post name” is selected for controlling URL slugs. I’m assuming this means that the slug of my uploaded file should have automatically been something like: Two-Handed-Saints-Part-@-120 bpm
It was not. So that’s the first question: how do I get the slug to AUTOMATICALLY match the name of the file?
Anyway, I eventually edited the slug as follows: two-handed-saints-part
Now, my new slug correctly shows as part of the Permalink below the title of the file in Media Library > Edit Media:
Permalink: https://courses.creativekeyboardist.com/two-handed-saints-part/
However, when displaying the list of the files in the Media Library, the filename is shown as:
Two-Handed Saints Part @ 120 bpm
and right below that, which I assume should be the slug, is:
[email protected]Where is “[email protected]” coming from? Is this the slug, the filename, the file title, or what? Why is it different from the Permalink? This is super-confusing. Especially when I’m trying to add a file to a post and all I see is “[email protected]” which is neither the name I gave the file, nor the slug I chose.
P.S. This forum would be more useful if I could include screenshots.
