The images in my media library have no preview and when I try to install an image they do not display.
I have so far deactivated all plug ins, Tried a different theme, Changed file extensions from .png to .jpeg, installed Hotfix and tried a Media Library Sync plug in I read on another thread. I am not a WP expert and am now out of ideas.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

  • I found the same problem on a test site this morning. The folder permissions were all set to 0771 – i.e.: no read permission for public access. Set the permissions to 0775, and it should clear the problem.

@dhackett68: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread unless you are posting a solution or suggestion. It causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, the cause of your issue could be completely different. Please post your own topic.

@esmi: The last time I checked, advising someone to check the file permissions and ensure that there is public access to the files constitutes both a suggestion and (in my case at least) a solution.

    Hi
I am in the C-Panel now and have found all the folders seem to be set to 0771 as you thought with the contents set to 0644. I have changed the following folders to 0775:
    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-includes

This worked a treat – Thank you very much ??

    No problem, Ian!
