• I built our WordPress site using MAMP and transferred it to a server this morning. I used an FTP program to upload all of the images into the wp_content/uploads folder but they are not showing in the Media Library.

I searched the forums and followed the advice or running an SQL Query to change the ‘localhost’ to acoftenants.org and changed the GUID also.

Still nothing. Any ideas how I can make the media show in the library?

    Thanks.
    Cyndi

    Hi,

You should never manually make edits to the database like that because of the nature of how WordPress stores data, instead use a tool like https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ which handles what is known as serialized data properly.

You say you uploaded your media files, did you not move the database as well? (WordPress determines what files you have by looking at it’s database, not the filesystem it self)

    Hi,
Congratulations you just broke up all your links.
The attachment and featured images storage in WP is so complicated that even good developers can’t understand it well(expect me). You shouldn’t change any link by hand if you have a plugin for that use it. If not ask someone to write one for you.
