• We have a website for work and I decided to add a set of images through the back-end on our IIS server at wp-content/uploads/2023 and now the media library tab will not show any of my images. How do I fix this issue? I never used an FTP I did a drag and drop scenario.

Use the plugin “add from server” to add media you uploaded outside of wordpress to the database.

Thank’s Steve tried that no luck. I’m wondering if the directoy has become corrupt as I started adding ZIP files etc and is there anyway I can repair this.

If not in the media lib, delete the files. Then, upload to a temp directory (uploads/temp) and use add from server to load them from there.

To clarify, the Media section of your Dashboard is a catalog, not a file browser.

If you upload files outside of WordPress, WordPress won’t know about them and thus won’t display them in the Media section of your Dashboard.

For your files to appear in the Media section of your Dashboard, they must be uploaded through WordPress somehow, whether it’s when writing/editing a post/page, from Media -> Add New in your Dashboard, or via a plugin or theme.
