• This is something that just started a couple of days ago. When you try to display the media library contents the little “busy wheel” just spins away—but no display. If you change the display format to “list” then the library contents displays. I noticed that when in “list” mode the browser “busy wheel” is spinning on the browser tab until the contents are delivered and displayed BUT in the normal table layout ( where nothing is being displayed ) the little “busy wheel” is spinning on the media page but there is NO “busy wheel” displayed on the browser tab.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks for your feedback. I will pursue some of your suggestions. The confusing part of this is that this just seems to have happened in the last day or so—and we haven’t performed any plugin additions, updates, etc. Also the fact that the list format of the media contents continues to work. Again, confusing.
