Media Library is showing up as grey boxes

  • Our media library is suddenly showing up as grey boxes when wordpress updated itself and all images on the site aren’t displaying anymore. I have verified all images exist in their respective uploads folder by checking through ftp following the exact same urls found from the media library File Path url.

    Things I’ve tried:

    • Reinstalling the latest version of wordpress
    • updating all plugins
    • disabling plugins
    • checking permalink structure

  • Have a look under Tools > Site Health to see if any anomalies are mentioned there.

    Also change the theme to a standard theme as a test.
