I recently changed domains and did all the normal procedures:
    backup files & database
    update url on wp-admin, function.php, wp_option DB, wp-config.php
    update permalinks
    301 redirects
    search and replace tools

I changed domains. but I am on the same host and the same server.
I did not migrate (restore the DB into a new one and update the details in wp-config.php)

The issue I am having is that I see everything has updated to the new domain except in the media library.
When looking at a file in my media library the file url is still the old domain, however when i hover over the ‘view attachment page’ I see it’s the new domain.

This has caused file mismatch errors for some of my plugins and causes some embedding to break when using some plugins. Even on new uploads it still shows the old domain as the file url.

    How can I fix this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

What search and replace tool did you use? Some domain references are buried in serialized arrays and are not accessible to some tools. Or worse yet, they could corrupt the serial structure if they are not constructed to handle serialized data. The Better Search and Replace plugin should properly locate such data and properly replace it while maintaining serial integrity.

Try the plugin, the worst that can happen in its “Dry Run” won’t find anything to replace. If you do decide to have it make actual changes, please backup your DB before doing so. I’ve never had a problem with this tool, but better safe than sorry.

@bcworkz that is the tool I used and it still didn’t work.

    Fixed the issue.

It had to do with iThemes Security.

I used it to change my wp-content folder and I had to revert those changes and redo them.

Now everything is working as expected.
