Media library does not show images

  • This is an inquiry for a client whose website was hacked.

    After their website was hacked, they can no longer add new images to the media folder. When they click to open the media folder, the media library is blank.

    1. What would cause this, and 2, how can this be resolved.

    1. Try clearing cache on the WP admin portal. Probably won’t help but that seems to be a common thing to try.
    2. Restore backup?
    3. Use strong(er) password.
