• Hi Team,
Media Library is not displaying in grid view but it works fine in list view. To solve this issue,I have tried to deactivated all plugins one by one but no plugin is conflicting with it. Also I have checked the 777 permission for directories. It is set to 777 for all directories. But Media page is still loading and it doesn’t show images. Can you check the below link and let me know what could be the solution for this?
    Your help might be grateful.

  • A screenshot is not much help as it does not show javascript errors.. I suggest installing the Health Check plugin to see if there is a conflict. Or you can ask the question with your theme developer.

@jaycbrf, We are not using any health check plugin as well as there is no javascript error in console.
As you can check here plugin list:

I have the same problem. I disabled all plugins, changed theme – no help.
I am also not able to upload image with “multi-file uploader” switched on. It stucks on “Crunching…”.

After an upgrade from WP core version 4.8.3 to version 4.9.1, the media library does not display anything except the upload button … unable to upload.
Editing a post or page, are able to view the attached featured image.
“upload” directory permissions are correct (maintained by automated deployment processes.)
Disabled all plugins, no change, no joy.

Downgraded to core version 4.9, no change.

No java script errors, no web server log errors, the mystery deepens.

Installed current version of the twentyseventeen theme, no change, problem still exists.

The surface appearance is that the core 4.9 contains a bug that affects some themes, potentially an issue with the installed theme.

Apache web server environment variable used by a custom mu-plugin.
This was missing from the web server configuration.
In theory, the custom mu-plugin provides a default value if the environment variable is missing … until core version 4.9.

Just guessing, better security related handling of “stuff” in version 4.9 correctly broke the mu-plugin … now fixed, problem resolved.

I found, that on my site was the problem caused by malware.
The virus was inside of script: wp-load.php.
